NAYA
HAUS

This house is a tropical take on a Scandinavian Barn with elements of Japanese influence, designed to highlight different styles and materials that are not readily seen in the area.
This house, while having a dark exterior, achieved a high energy efficiency rating and also boasts solar panels and a water tank. Most of the materials used are either recycled or able to be recycled.
The house is located high in Cairns with views out to Green Island from almost every room of the house, the extensive use of louvres ensures a cool breeze flows through the house all the time.
Due to the steep slope on the site, a Plungie swimming pool was used, and to ensure privacy the pool is located on the verandah, with cutouts in the roof over for extra light and a point of difference.

Naya Haus was featured on Channel 9's Australias Best House in 2024 - see video below. Also soon to be featured on Australia By Design. It features on the websites and social media accounts of many of the suppliers who contributed to the amazing materials used throughout.

It has also won multiple awards, including:

  • BDQ FNQ Regional Design Award for New House $1-1.5 Million

  • BDQ State Design Awards - Peoples Choice Award

  • Master Builder Awards - New house $1-1.5 Million

  • Master Builder Awards - Best Use of Sloping Site
